MLBA Drinking Age Survey Page 1 of 3

Survey Response - Preamble
The results of the last survey show that our members are split nearly 50/50 on whether they would like to see the drinking age be lowered. So, below we hope to to provide a little more context as to why we believe that this discussion is relevant and important.

29 states allow minors to consume alcohol at home or on private property with parental consent and 6 states allow minors to consume alcohol at home or on private property without parental consent. In addition, 8 states currently allow minors to consume alcohol on alcohol-selling premises with parental supervision. 

Around the world, there are only 12 countries that have a drinking age set at 21-years-of-age. Along with the U.S. these countries include Iraq and Mongolia. Most countries have a legal drinking age of 18-19, including Australia, Canada, France, Russia and the United Kingdom. Some countries even have a drinking age of 20.
